Voltage transformers can keep power flowing this winter

Choosing the right voltage transformers could help businesses in northern England and Scotland to stay operational during the harshest days of winter.

According to PricewaterhouseCoopers, last year's coldest months saw disruption including road closures, early finishes to the working day, and power outages.

James Crask, business continuity expert at PwC, says: "Preparation is everything. Businesses that have failed to prepare will find it difficult to keep their operations running smoothly throughout the disruption."

Unlike in decades past, there are now ways to compensate for a loss of mains power.

Generators have been an alternative option for emergencies for many years, but uninterruptible power supplies can also now keep critical IT systems running for a short period.

Renewable energy infrastructure including wind turbines and solar panels may also provide a short-term solution to mains outages.

However, the right voltage transformers are a must to maintain power quality when generating electricity on-site.

By keeping your power supply at the right voltage - whatever the original source of the energy used - you can make sure your most important machines stay working on the coldest days of winter.
